Organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), signature events under the mega promotion "In Style Hong Kong" were successfully held in Bangkok, Thailand last week. Vincent HS Lo, Chairman of the HKTDC, Rimsky Yuen, Secretary for Justice of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Government, Apiradi Tantraporn, Minister of Commerce of Thailand and Margaret Fong, Executive Director of HKTDC had attended the opening session of the Symposium.

 

Five thematic sessions on e-commerce logistics, renminbi business and corporate treasury, smart city development, digital marketing, as well as arbitration and intellectual property protection were held to address issues relevant to the Thai business community. More than 1,500 Thai business people attended the Symposium.

 

The thematic seminar was well supported by Hong Kong Government, local universities, law professionals and large chambers of commerce and CAs from, China, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Korea and Thailand to share the latest development and to promote the cross-border e-Commerce.

 

During the thematic session of “The Belt and Road Initiative: Digital Framework for Connecting Smart Cities” which hosted by HKPKI Forum and supported by The Chinese Manufacturers’ Association of Hong Kong, was well supported by Hong Kong Government, China and Thailand.

 

Renowned speakers shared their knowledge and experience on cross-border payment instruments, smart identity, smart city infrastructure, interoperability and legal framework; and how these elements would contribute to efficient government and business network integration, as well as multilateral co-operation across participating economic entities under the Belt and Road Initiative.

 

 

Furthermore, there was a Signing Ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding on an electronic Identity Standard using Government Root Certification Authorities between ETDA, HKPKI Forum, and the Shandong Government Economic and Information Technology Committee of China.
